Questions we hear most often

Producers and event organisers ask us much the same things before a first booking. These answers cover scope, preparation, kit and how a job runs.

  1. What kinds of productions do you work on?

We work on television programmes, live broadcasts, presentations and media events. That includes multi-camera studio shoots, stage events that need a broadcast feed, and smaller interview or portrait-style segments. If you are unsure whether your project fits, describe it through the contact page and we will tell you plainly whether it suits us.

  2. Can you take on only one part of a production, such as lighting or audio?

Yes. Camera, lighting, audio and live production are separate services and can be booked on their own or together. Many clients bring us in for one discipline because their own crew covers the rest. We coordinate with your people so the lighting, sound and camera plans work as a single system.

  3. Do you supply the equipment, or only the crew?

It depends on the job. We can specify, rig and operate a system, and we can also work with kit you already own or hire. We agree this in the written quotation, so you know before the day which items are ours, which are yours and who is responsible for each.

  4. How far ahead should we get in touch?

As early as you reasonably can. Lighting design and camera specification need a site visit or a set plan, and that takes time to do properly. For a simple interview setup a shorter lead time is often workable. Tell us your date and we will say honestly whether it is realistic.

  5. What should we prepare before the first conversation?

Useful details are the format of the show, the venue or studio, the date, the number of cameras you imagine and any delivery requirements. A rough floor plan or set sketch helps a great deal. If you do not have these yet, that is fine; we can help you work them out during planning.

  6. Do you review an existing workflow rather than run a shoot?

Yes. Our workflow and gallery consulting looks at how your production runs, from gallery layout and signal routing to file handover. You receive a written action list that your own team can work through, whether or not you hire us for anything further.

  7. Can you work at our venue, or only in a studio?

We work in studios and at external venues. For a venue we usually need to see the space or its plans first, to check power, rigging points, cable routes and sightlines. The quotation sets out what we found and what the setup will need.

  8. How do quotation and payment work?

You send an enquiry through the contact page. We reply with a written quotation or confirmation, and once agreed we issue an invoice, which you pay by bank transfer. Nothing is paid on this site. Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy.

What shapes a broadcast job before the day

Most of the work on a good broadcast happens before anyone switches on a camera. The questions above touch on it; this is how we think about the preparation that sits behind a calm shoot day.
